ROBERTO TUPAZ LASTIMOSO, 79-year-old. He was appointed as Chairman of the PNR Board on November 28, 2016, and has taken his oath on March 30, 2017. He is a graduate of Philippine Military Academy (BSPMA) and PhD graduate of Philippine College of Criminology. Before becoming Chairman of the PNR Board, he has served in various capacities in government among others as: General Manager of MRT3 (January 2004-June 2009), Assistant Secretary-Rail Sector of the Department of Transportation and Communication (September 2003-June 2009), Assistant Secretary and Chief of Land Transportation Office (January 2002-September 2003). He was also the Director General/Chief of the Philippine National Police (June 1998-January 2000) and before becoming the highest PNP official, he has served in various military capacities in most of the regions of the Philippines. He has numerous military awards, medals and distinctions. He was also the vice-chairman of GRP-Panel-Peace Talks with MNLF, Senior Police Assistant of DILG, Director of PNOC, Consultant of the Philippine Ports Authority, Director of Rural Bank of Butuan City and Director of AMA Computer College in Butuan City.
